Years of service
I have been in the handyman business for 30years, It was about $12.50 an hour in 1995. It’s now 2025 and rate is $125.00 an hour. The business needs this rate to be successful. Just the insurance alone is $1600-1800 a month just for liability. Auto, Credit card fees, taxes, etc. all cost more. Anyways its more expensive.
To date, I have never been sued, never broken a promise, or lied to anyone. So, I have that blessing, I am thankful for it. Do not get me wrong, I have made mistakes, But I believe in doing what’s right, Boy scouts taught me that, and in the end it’s worth it.
I have worked for house builders reviewed, red lined and changed many blueprints over the years and have built many of them. It is different for me as My basics come from an electronics background and everything that I learned then, is still current just comes up more often. For instance, solar and fiber have now started to catch up with the home ownership and it’s great for me, as I have years of experience outside and inside these industries.
